This experiment was a studio project which went through many rounds of prototyping.
This wearable technology anti-surveillance cloak that protects the user from most forms of surveillance and yet is absurdly visible to the human eye. This cloak protects the wearer from a myriad of privacy intrusions including digital and thermal cameras, olfactory detection, and audio detection. By protecting the user against surveillance, while at the same time making the user stand out to human observers, it can be considered an anti-fashion statement. It is hypothesized that the user, by wearing or asking questions about the wearable technology, will become more aware of the extent of surveillance in society and question its relevance.
